Trip to and from the stadium

Tram and Cars onRoad

How do I get to the stadium?

Up to 100,000 people are expected in Stuttgart on the respective match days. Because there is so much going on, it is better to leave your car at home and travel by bus and train.

The VVS and the transport companies have played an important role as partners in the planning of mobility during the UEFA EURO 2024 and have ensured that people in the region are well transported.

The S-Bahn S1 it only takes 7 minutes from the main train station to the Neckarpark stop, from where it's just a few minutes' walk. On match days, the U11 tram also runs directly from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof to Neckarpark/Stadion.

Simply use our "VVS Mobil" app or visit vvs.de for more information.

Tickets for the games in Stuttgart are valid from 6 a.m. on the respective match day until 6 p.m. the following day (a total of 36 hours) on all VVS network vehicles.

The way to the stadium

Tram

This is how the SSB will operate during the four weeks of Euro 2024 from June 13 to July 14, 2024:

More services in the timetable: On almost all days, the 10-minute frequency of the tram lines running through the city center will be extended until around midnight. The exceptions are June 17 and 18 and the non-match days. On the same days, the timetable for the tram lines running through the city center will also be extended by a further hour at 15-minute intervals.

More space into the night: The U6, U7 and U12 will run as 80-metre-long trains on all days.

More buses on Sundays: On Sundays, the inner-city bus lines 40, 42, 43 and 44 run according to their Saturday timetable.

Special line to the Stuttgart Arena: On match days in Stuttgart, the U11 runs four hours before kick-off until around two hours after the final whistle.

The SSB night buses depart directly from Schlossplatz every night as usual. During the week they depart at 1.20, 2.30 and 3.40 am, at weekends at 1.20, 2.00, 2.30, 3.10 and 3.40 am.

S-Bahn

The S-Bahn Stuttgart will also run the usual additional trains on the S11 for arrivals and departures, depending on the time of the match. On the nights after the match days, all S-Bahn lines run at hourly intervals throughout the night.

How to get to Stuttgart

By car

Travel by car is not recommended during EURO 2024. There will be road closures into the city center, and a lot of traffic is to be expected. Parking spaces at the stadium are only available for a small number of pre-registered cars.

If you still want or need to travel by car, there are two ways to get to Stuttgart via the A8 and A81 highways. The A8 runs from east to west, the A81 from north to south. Drivers can use one of the 115 Park + Ride parking spaces in the extended city area.

By plane

Stuttgart Airport (STR) is located around ten kilometers southwest of the city center. The 4 terminals connect passengers with over 120 destinations worldwide.

The S-Bahn at the airport takes passengers to the main train station on the lines S2 and S3 in less than 30 minutes. The tram (u6) is about a five-minute walk away from the terminal and takes about 30 minutes to the city center.

Other airport options are Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich.

By long-distance bus

The Stuttgart Airport Bus Terminal (SAB) is the main hub for all long-distance bus routes into the city. The bus terminal is located on the airport grounds near Terminal 4. The full list of destinations and further information can be found on the SAB website.
